MIRPUR ( AJK): January 21: The AJ&K state electricity department has inked an integrated Rs. 10 billion strengthening of power distribution plan for across Azad Jammu & Kashmir state with the liberal financial assistance of the government of Pakistan, official sources said.
Disclosing this Secretary to AJ&K Government for Energy and Water Resources Muhammad Tayyab Chaudhry told our Special Jammu Kashmir state Correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao here on Wednesday that the government has prepared a plan in the form of a PC-1 in the light of commitment given by the federal government to provide Rs 10 Billion to strengthen the power distribution network in AJ&K.
” Other than that the AJ&K Government spends sizeable sums from Annual Development Program and recurrent budget also, for the same purpose”, he underlined.
To a question, Tayyeb Ch revealed that PC-1 was under scrutiny for formal approval by the Ministry of Energy Govt of Pakistan. “Details and district wise breakup of the proposed plan may be shared once it was finalized and approved”, he added while responding to a supplementary question.
