AJK PM for delivery of quality education harmonious to need of modern age in the state

MIRPUR ( AJK): July 17: Azad Jammu Kashmir Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Chaudhry Thursday directed the State Education authorities to focus on the delivery of quality education in the public sector schools and colleges in the region. matching to the needs of the modern age.

He was addressing an extraordinary meeting of the state Education authorities held in the syate metropolis on Thursday on the major agenda item of “Strengthening and Regionalization of Educational Institutions” in the state. The PM instructed to the authorities concerned to immediately resolve the issue forthwith.

Describing right to quality education as the constitutional right of the young generation, the PM said that training of the new generation cannot be fully protected without addressing the legitimate grievances of teachers and providing financial security to them.

The meeting was attended by Senior Minister General (retd) Waqar Ahmed Noor, Minister for Education Schools Dewan Ali Khan Chughtai, Minister for PDO Chaudhry Rashid, Secretary Inland Revenue Chaudhry Raqib, Secretary for Education Schools Qazi Inayat and others. During the meeting, Minister for Education and Schools Diwan Ali Khan Chughtai and Secretary for Education and Schools Qazi Inayat presented a detailed briefing about the educational institutions and the upgradation of teachers.The Prime Minister was also briefed on the allocation of posts, teacher cadres and educational management and the hurdles in the way of systematic administration.

Speaking on the occasion, the PM underscored that institutional reforms was a key to improve management and the overall performance of the educational institutions.”Effective rationalization and strengthening administration are key to improving standard and quality of education”, the PM said.

He said that while administrative shortcomings were being addressed, however necessary legislation could be made if required to to fix things properly. “Our priority is to improve the system, uphold the merit and ensure public funds are spent on people’s welfare”, the PM remarked.

The government, he said, was taking all possible measures for the welfare of the people and the best training of the new generation. The meeting unanimously agreed to resolve all the problems of teachers and the immediate implementation of reforms in educational institutions on a priority basis.

It is worth mentioning here that Prime Minister Haq had already issued instructions to the Secretary for Education and Schools for institutional reforms.
