MIRPUR ( AJK): November 27 ( APP): Azad Jammu Kashmir Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore reiterated his government’s resolve to work closely with overseas Kashmiris, recognising them as an essential pillar in advocacy, development, and social welfare, official sources said.

He was talking to an Overseas Kashmiris delegation which called on him at Jammu Kashmir House in the federal metropolis on Thursday, official sources told APP on Thursday.

He praised JKSDMI for its decades-long international campaign and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening global engagement on the Kashmir issue.

The delegation comprises JKSDMI’s Founding Chairman, Raja Najabat Hussain Sitara-e-Pakistan, Lord Mayor of Bradford Councillor Mohammed Shafiq, Former Advisor to the Prime Minister of AJK Colonel (Retd.) Mohammed Mahroof, Former Director Info. Department Mohammed Rashid Chaudhary, Professor Abdul Razzaq of Plunderi, and Sahibzada Zulfiqar Ali.

Prime Minister Rathore expressed his gratitude to the delegation for their visit and the continued support of overseas Kashmiris. He particularly appreciated the long-standing contributions of JKSDMI under the leadership of Raja Najabat Hussain.

He also extended a formal invitation to Lord Mayor of Bradford Councillor Mohammed Shafiq to visit Muzaffarabad, acknowledging the strong historical ties between Bradford’s Kashmiri community and Azad Kashmir.

The delegation formally congratulated Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore on assuming office as the new Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir. They conveyed the collective goodwill of overseas Kashmiris and reaffirmed JKSDMI’s commitment to supporting the government in its efforts on the Kashmir cause, development, and welfare of the region.

Raja Najabat Hussain assured the Prime Minister that JKSDMI, along with the wider diaspora community, would continue to play a constructive role internationally—raising awareness on the Kashmir issue, advocating for Kashmiris’ right to self-determination, and strengthening links between the diaspora and AJK institutions.
