During the ceremony, the minister and the AJK police chief handed over notifications for 23 new posts for offices of the fire brigade and Emergency Services 1122 to Mirpur Deputy Commissioner Raja Muhammad Sadaqat Khan, as reported by APP AJK Correspondent from Islamgarh, Mirpur.
On arrival, the dignitaries received a rousing reception at the police station, with a well-dressed police contingent presenting a guard of honor and salute. The ceremony was attended by Commissioner Mirpur Division Raja Tahir Mumtaz Khan, Deputy Commissioner Raja Muhammad Sadaqat Khan, SSP Khurram Iqbal, Assistant Commissioner Islamgarh Tanveer-ul-Islam, and former Administrator Lala Rafiq Ahmed Taufiqi, who also addressed the gathering.
Addressing attendees, IGP Muhammad Yasin Qureshi emphasized that the AJK Police would be equipped with modern facilities and professional equipment, highlighting their critical role in security. “Whenever a problem emerges, the police stand first to respond,” he said, noting the shortage of police personnel in AJK and the government’s determination to enhance skills and efficiency. He stressed the immediate need to double police personnel and provide accommodation facilities in police lines and station buildings. He also underlined the importance of an integrated communication system for 24-hour operational readiness.
Finance Minister Chaudhry Qasim Majeed said the current PPP government under Prime Minister Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore works tirelessly for the development, progress, and welfare of the people. He announced plans to recruit 3,000 new police personnel, construct a Pir Gali police post, build a new Chakswari Police Station, and develop a Tehsil Complex in Islamgarh under a single roof.
The minister highlighted that the Islamgarh Police Station will be named after Shaheed Police Inspector Adnan Farooq Qureshi and that new furniture and facilities will be provided for DSP offices. He urged mutual cooperation between the government, police, and public, emphasizing justice, public service, and administrative efficiency.
Qasim Majeed also encouraged the public to suggest solutions for local issues directly, assuring no delays in resolving public problems, including education, health, water, electricity, and communication facilities. He expressed pride in his family’s police legacy and reiterated that the police are protectors of the people, with administration and government offices dedicated to public service.
The inauguration marks a significant milestone in Islamgarh’s development, strengthening both the police and administrative infrastructure to serve the people efficiently.
