AJK SCBA Chief describes October 27 bleak day in disputed Jammu Kashmir’s history:

MIRPUR (AJK): Òct 27: The nation-wide observance of October 27 as black day on Monday by people of Pakistan and Jammu & Kashmir state living both sides of the line of control and rest of the world to mourn 77 years of forced and illegal occupation of bulk of the disputed Jammu Kashmir state till now, is the manifestation and reiteration of the fact that hearts of the Pakistani nation and the Kashmirs beat in unison and both stand united for the early peaceful settlement of Kashmir issue through grant of the birth right of self determination to the people of the disputed Himalayan Jammu Kashmir state.

These views were expressed by President Azad Jammu Kashmir Supreme Court Bar Association Javed Najam us Saqib Advocate while addressing a lawyers protest gathering held here Monday to mark October 27 as black dayon behalf of the legal fraternity of AJK to register resentment against continual long illegal Indian occupation of a major part of the disputed Himalayan state.

Our Special Jammu and Kashmir state Correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao reports from Mirpur that Saqib called upon the United Nations to immediately move to implement its resolutions on Kashmiri and help stop the ongoing oppression and increased human rights abuses in in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu Kashmir state.

Describing October 27 as the bleak day in Kashmir’s history, the senior Kashmiri lawyer said that on this day in 1947, India occupied Kashmir illegally by flouting international laws and norms of justice and fair play.

He said that the Indian invasion of Kashmir had led to death and destruction in the region.

“Bloodshed, State terrorism, violence, oppression and suppression have been a hallmark of India’s neo colonial rule in the region”, the AJK SCBA President said and added that India’s belligerent occupation opened the floodgates to violence and human rights violations against the people of Jammu and Kashmir state.

Declaring India as a usurper, Saqib recalled that it was Indian government which knocked the UN Security Council on January 1, 1948 and promised to grant Kashmiris their right to self-determination at the UN.

The AJK SCBA Chief said that the so called champions of democracy deprived Kashmiris of their basic political and human rights.He said that Kashmiris living on both sides of the bloody line (LoC) and the world over were celebrating Black Day as a mark of protest against India’s occupation of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

He categorically reiterated that said Jammu Kashmir people had never accepted the illegal occupation of India.

” India later on backtracked from its commitments and refused to implement the UN resolutions that guaranteed the right to self determination for the people of Kashmir, he underlined adding that the so called largest democracy of the world was using its repressive state apparatus to crush the Kashmiris’ legitimate struggle for the right of self determination.

Saqib observed that despite using its occupational military might, the India has miserably failed to discourage the Kashmiris resolve and their spirit of freedom. He said that no day is left when Kashmiri youths are not martyred in fake encounters and strict restrictions are not imposed on the media to hide the ground reality situation in Occupied Kashmir”, he pointed out strongly condemning above Indian state action abusing the human rights.
