The Akash Media Bhuban Star Award 2025, a vibrant and culturally rich program, was held in Doha during Qatar’s Month of Victory, marking a significant milestone for the Bangladeshi expatriate community. The event took place on Monday, December 15, celebrating the 15th anniversary of the internationally recognized event management organization Akash Media Bhuban.
The ceremony was attended by prominent figures from various expatriate communities. Mohammad Barikul Islam, Political Counselor of the Bangladesh Embassy in Qatar, graced the occasion as the chief guest and formally presented crests to the award recipients. The program was chaired by E M Akash, Director of Akash Media Bhuban, who highlighted the organization’s continued efforts to promote culture, talent, and unity among expatriate communities.
A diverse group of artists and performers from different countries were honored, reflecting the event’s international character. Awardees included Bangladeshi musician Sayed Shahid, Indian artist Taibur Rahman, Nepali artist Sanam Sangeeta Lima, Pakistani artist Mohammad Ali, and Sri Lankan artists Isani Fanchika and Kumud Fanchika. The expatriate Bangladeshi band Baishakhi, along with popular models and film personalities such as Sujana Khan, film actor Munna Khan, Sohana Khan, and Tania Jannat, also received awards.
The event also recognized individuals for their exceptional contributions to the Bangladeshi community in Qatar across various sectors. Among those awarded the Star Award 2025 were Abdul Matin Patwari, Mohammad Manik Rahman, Hasan Ahmed, Shahin Ahmed, Dr. Saad, Ashfaq Zaman Lincoln, Natasha Khandaker, Professor Atmar, Dr. Amit Khandaker, Engineer Akhter Zaman Mamun, Iqbal Hossain Roni, Shipon Ahmed, Dr. Kutty Medical Center, Shakib Khan, Belal Mia, and Shahjalal Liton.
Journalists Tamim Raihan, Yusuf Patwari Lincoln, Sakhawat Hossain Sagar, and Haroon Rashid Qureshi were honored with special honorary crests.
The program was conducted by Mahmud Chowdhury, under the overall supervision of Sakhawat Hossain Sagar, with assistance from Mohammad Ismail Khan and Munna Mahmud Bhuiyan.
