Bahrain Celebrates National Day in Doha, Showcasing Unity and Achievements

The Embassy of Bahrain in Doha hosted a vibrant celebration to mark Bahrain’s National Day, commemorating the establishment of the modern Bahraini state by its founder, Ahmed Al Fateh, in 1783, and the silver jubilee of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s accession to the throne. The event commenced with the national anthems of Bahrain and Qatar, followed by a ceremonial cake-cutting, symbolizing the deep ties between the two nations. As part of the program, a documentary showcasing Bahrain’s rich heritage, achievements, and progress was screened, which received an overwhelmingly positive response from the audience.

In his address during the event, Bahrain’s Ambassador to Qatar, Mohammed bin Ali Al-Ghatam, extended his heartfelt congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the esteemed government and people of Bahrain on the occasion of National Day. He highlighted the significance of December 16 and 17 as days of pride and unity for the Kingdom, when Bahrainis reaffirm their loyalty to their leadership and celebrate their country’s achievements.

The ambassador reflected on Bahrain’s remarkable progress under the leadership of His Majesty the King, citing advancements in various fields such as human development, the economy, education, health, and technology. These achievements have elevated Bahrain’s standing as a model of sustainable development and regional innovation. He also emphasized the pivotal role of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 in guiding the nation toward greater success and prosperity.

Ambassador Al-Ghatam underscored the strong bilateral relations between Bahrain and Qatar, nurtured by the efforts of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar. He described these relations as exemplary, rooted in historical ties, shared aspirations, and mutual respect. The ambassador praised the integration and cooperation between the two nations in various fields, citing them as evidence of the depth and importance of their partnership.

The ambassador also expressed pride in Bahrain’s values of unity, solidarity, and innovation, which have contributed to its reputation as a leader in regional and global arenas. He commended the Kingdom’s achievements under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the ongoing efforts to build on these successes for the future.

In his concluding remarks, Ambassador Al-Ghatam reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to working alongside Qatar to achieve greater progress and prosperity for the region. He extended his best wishes for Bahrain’s continued security, stability, and growth, as well as for the enduring partnership between Bahrain and Qatar to flourish further.

The celebration reflected the strong ties between the two nations and provided an opportunity to reflect on the Kingdom of Bahrain’s achievements while looking forward to a future of continued cooperation and shared success.
