Blood Brothers, a play by The Doha Players from today on stage

The Doha Players, a Doha based non-profit Community theatre group since 1954 is presenting ‘Blood Brothers’ from today at the Hamilton International School Doha Theatre. 

The evening performance will be displayed on Feb 2, 3, 8, 9 and 17th of February. Matinee performances will be on Saturdays 4th and 11th February.

Full length musical play is by Willy Russell, the award winning author of Educating Rita and Shirley Valentine. 

The play won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Musical and its 1987 revival played over 10,000 consecutive performances during its 24-year West End run and a two year run on Broadway. It’s currently touring the UK and Ireland.

The play revolves around twins Mickey and Eddie, who were secretly separated at birth, one being raised in a wealthy family, the other in a poor family. A narrator warns that a price has to be paid for separating twins.

The Doha Players Theatre has organised around 200 plays since its inception in 1954.
