Bollywood actors Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal celebrated their union in a star-studded wedding ceremony in Mumbai on Sunday.
The festivities began with an intimate civil ceremony, followed by a glamorous reception at Bastian in Mumbai. The dress code was “formal and festive, just don’t wear red,” according to the Times of India.
Iqbal Ratansi, the groom’s father, shared with The Indian Express that the wedding would be a civil marriage without Hindu or Muslim rituals. He also noted that Sonakshi Sinha would not convert to Islam, emphasizing that religion played no role in their union.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, the newlyweds wrote, “On this very day, seven years back, in each other’s eyes, we saw love in its purest form and decided to hold on to it. Today that love has guided us through all the challenges and triumphs… leading up to this moment… where with the blessings of both our families and both our gods… we are now man and wife.”
The couple looked stunning in matching ivory outfits as they signed their marriage documents. Sinha’s elegant look featured her mother Poonam Sinha’s wedding saree and matching jewelry, while Iqbal donned an ivory embroidered kurta and pyjama.
For the reception, Sinha dazzled in a traditional red Varanasi silk saree from Raw Mango, adorned with delicate chand buta (gold crescent moon) motifs inspired by an 18th-century design. Her look was completed with jhumkay, a matching choker, and gajra in her hair.
The wedding reception saw a glittering guest list, including Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Rekha, Chunky Panday, Kajol, Arbaaz Khan, Saira Banu, Vidya Balan, Aditi Rao Hydari, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Tabu.
