Doha, March 12 (QNA) – HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet’s regular meeting on Wednesday, addressing key legislative and administrative matters.
Following the meeting, HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi issued a statement outlining the Cabinet’s decisions. The Cabinet approved, in principle, a draft resolution defining the administrative units within the General Retirement and Social Insurance Authority and their areas of specialization. Prepared in coordination with the Civil Services and Government Development Bureau, the draft aims to modernize the institutional structure overseeing social insurance systems under the Social Security and Military Retirement Laws.
Additionally, the Cabinet approved a draft decision by the Minister of Finance regarding the remuneration and regulations for members of tender and auction committees, in accordance with the Tenders and Auctions Regulation Law. Another approved draft decision by the Minister of Environment and Climate Change focuses on issuing a guide for radiation practices in industrial radiography, ensuring safety through national oversight requirements. This draft will be open for public feedback on the “Sharek” platform for ten days.
The Cabinet also approved a draft decision by the Minister of Justice to regulate the initial real estate registry, aligning with Law No. 6 of 2014. The draft, prepared with the Real Estate Regulatory Authority, aims to create a legislative framework for recording real estate data and legal documentation.
Further, the Cabinet took steps to ratify a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Qatar and Sierra Leone for cooperation in tourism and business events. It also approved MoUs with Saudi Arabia on statistical cooperation, Morocco on public administration reforms, and Libya on combating money laundering.
Lastly, the Cabinet reviewed reports on Qatar’s progress in implementing the National Cyber Security Strategy 2024-2030, participation in the Global Labor Market Conference, and the Arab Health Conference and Exhibition 2025, taking necessary decisions accordingly.
