Central Milad Committee demands early end of unlawful occupation of central Jamia Mosque Mufti Abdul Hakeem in Mirpur-AJK city:

MIRPUR  ( AJK): August 10: “Azad Jammu Kashmir State Government, especially Mirpur district administration must  immediately accept our demands ending the unlawful occupation of the central Jamia Masjid Mufti Abdul Hakeem, the center of Ahle Sunna sect.  to hand over all the arrangements for Imamat Khatabat (delivery of sermons, to the mosque committee”.

Our Special Jammu and Kashmir state Correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao reports from Mirpur that these demands were tabled by the Chairman Tehreek Tahafuz Namoos Rislat, Patron Central Milad Committee, Riyaz Alam, Advocate, while addressing a crowded  news conference at Kashmir Press Club,  here on Saturday.

The joint press conference was also addressed by President Milad Committee Alhaji Ghulam Rasool Awami, General Secretary Chaudhary Shawkat Mehmood, Member Mosque Committee Raja Jamilur Rahman, Allama Sahibzada Qadir Ahmad Zahidi, Allama Mufti Rashid Al Qadri Hafiz Nasir Soltani Siddiqui, held  on behalf of the Sunni Ulema Mashaikh Council and Central Milad Committee, Mirpur-AJK.

Several local dignitaries including former mayor Chaudhry Abdul Razzaq, prominent businessman Haji Sabir Mughal, Sheikh Sarwar Ahmed, Chaudhry Muhammad Ramzan, Naveed Anjum Abbasi were also  present on this occasion.

Addressing the joint news conference Chairman Tehreek Tahafuz Namoos Risalat, Patron Central Milad Committee, Riyaz Alam, Advocate, and others said otherwise, they would be constrained to make ‘gehrao’ of the  office of the Mirpur Deputy Commissioner as a mark of protest.

” The speakers continued as saying “we will not let the failed attempts to end the four hundred years of history of the Central Jamia Masjid succeed in any way:.

Elaborating their prposed protest  program in case of non- acceptance of their demands, the protestant Masjid Committee  leaders said “We do not want to worsen the situation, but the administration is forcing us.  The responsibility of all dire consequences will go on the AJK government and the administration of Mirpur”.

They asserted that their  mosque committee is a  registered forum.

They continued as saying “On  one hand, the administration itself says that the notorious dirty people cannot lead the Imamate in the mosque. On the other hand, the strange policy of the administration is causing unrest among  those belonging to Sunna sect”.

“What is it, the administration has to play its rightful role immediately, now we will not accept the wrong policy. The whole city is with us. The infamous elements cannot be declared religious scholars.  The AJK government and the Mirpir district administration have bowed down in shame”, they maintained.

The speakers declared that their Sunni Ulema Mashaikh Council will continue its struggle. The Central Milad Committee will continue its struggle.

They demanded of the state government a d the administration to immediately hand over control of the central Jamia Masjid should be handed over to the mosque committee so that a proper religious scholar can perform the duties of imam and speech.

“A local lad. who do not understand the religious obligations fully, is performing as the imam in the mosque at present and this will not be acceptable under any circumstances, Chaudhry Riyaz Alam Advocate said.

He underlined that the mosque committee was formed in 2003 and was registered in 2007.

“A good system was running. A gentleman came from Britain and is trying to destroy the entire system by occupying it. We will never allow this to happen. The administration and citizens are aware of the role of such people, Alam observed.

He said that if our principled position was not recognized immediately, then they will be constrained to raise protest strongly against the AJK  government and the local  administration by making gehrao of the Mirpur Commissioner Office, he warned. Ends
