China has expressed readiness to work with the United States to ensure the healthy, stable and sustainable development of bilateral economic and trade relations ahead of a new round of consultations.
Speaking at a regular press briefing in Beijing on Thursday, Commerce Ministry spokesperson He Yongqian said both countries have maintained communication at multiple levels through the China–U.S. economic and trade consultation mechanism. Her remarks came in response to a question on preparations for the sixth round of bilateral economic and trade talks.
She noted that China is prepared to coordinate closely with the United States to implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state during their 2025 meeting in Busan and their recent telephone conversation on Feb. 4.
China stands ready to engage with the U.S. through equal-footed consultations, properly manage differences, and expand practical cooperation, the spokesperson said. Such efforts, she added, would support stable bilateral trade ties and deliver broader benefits to both economies as well as the global market.
Officials view continued dialogue under the established consultation framework as essential to maintaining predictability in China–U.S. commercial relations and advancing mutually beneficial outcomes in trade and investment.
