BEIRUT, March 19 – At least five people were killed and 10 others injured on Thursday in a series of Israeli airstrikes across southern Lebanon, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency.
In the coastal town of Aadloun, a strike on a house at the outskirts killed two residents. Additional attacks around Tyre and its popular housing district left two dead and eight others wounded, with injuries reported as minor to moderate.
In Bazourieh, a separate strike destroyed a residential block, killing one person and injuring two more, including one critically, while cutting off the main road.
The border town of Khiam has been under assault since Thursday morning, with Israeli forces reportedly attempting ground infiltration amid heavy artillery and missile fire, clashing with Hezbollah fighters.
Tensions follow Hezbollah’s March 2 rocket launches toward Israel, the first since the ceasefire on November 27, 2024. Israel responded with a military campaign involving intensive airstrikes across southern and eastern Lebanon, as well as Beirut’s southern suburbs.
Analysts warn that escalating strikes and clashes could further destabilize the region, raising concerns for civilian safety and broader Middle East security.
