Drunkard police man arrested from a road-side parked car: City Police starts prob

MIRPUR ( AJK): Dec. 12: City police have arrested one of their professional colleagues – identified as Constable Fiyaz Ahmed, for allegedly having been in drunked form, at central Shaheed chowk here late Wednesday night.

Mirpur-AJK Senior Superintendent of Police Khawer Ali Shoukat confirmed. at a news conference here Thursday, the arrest of the police constable Fayaz Ahmed, currently posted at police lines in Mirpur, by the Mirpur city Police station, after he was found drunked, sitting in a parked car reportedly belonging to a local resident.

City police station has booked the police constable and started further investigations.

According to the investigations conducted by our this Special Correspondent to further probe into the story, the arrested drunked police man was found sitting in a road-side parked car at Shaheed chowk late Wednesday.

Unveiling the details of the episode, eye witness – senior journalist and Editor of local Daily “Awaaza” Muhammad Ramzan Chughtai, also Deputy Mayor of the city, told this Correspondent here Thursday that last night (Wednesday), as usual, he closed down his daily newspaper “Awaza” office, located at Shaheed Chowk and started moving to the car parking for onward moving back to home as routine.

Elaborating the incident, he continued as saying “as there was no space in his car for the seven staff members with me, I requested Khalid Chaudhry, Chief Editor of Daily “Shaheen”, to drop some of my colleagues too to their respectivedestinations. By chance, in the car parking located at the east side of the government degree college, my car and Khalid Chaudhry’s car were parked close to each other. I sat in my car with three people sat together. When the advocate, the nephew of Mr. Khalid Chaudhry, tried to open the car from the driver’s side of his Corolla, he found an unknown person sitting on the driver’s seat of the car, trying to start the car locking the car from inside. The SHO city police station was informed about the situation who immediately called the police on the spot and whisked the person in the police vehicle taking him to the police station. The appended person was identified as Fayyaz Ahmed, the police constable presently posted at police line is Mirpur.
The police pulled him out of the car and found a strange smell coming from his mouth seemed found like he had drunk too much. Thereafter, the police took the said person to the city police station and later sent him to the DHQ hospital for medical examination.
The doctor confirmed the bad breath in positive.
On which a case was registered against the said police man in the city police station”.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the arrested police man had earlier been allegedly involved in identical incident during his posting in Muzaffarabad where it was reported with reference to this policd official for having been found intoxicated with alcohol and a case of drunkenness and larceny was registered in Muzaffarabad during his duty during local bodies elections in AJK.
