DUBAI, March 6: Airports in Dubai have facilitated more than 1,140 flights over the past 84 hours to assist travelers returning home amid ongoing regional aviation disruptions, according to Dubai Airports, the city’s state-owned operator.
The flights were handled through Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport, two of the UAE’s main aviation hubs.
Between Monday and Thursday, more than 500 flights departed from the two airports, providing approximately 105,000 outbound seats for passengers traveling to over 80 destinations worldwide. Airport authorities noted that the number of flights has continued to increase as airlines adjust schedules to meet demand.
Dubai Airports said additional flights are being added to daily operations to help accommodate passengers affected by changes in regional air travel.
Travelers have been advised to check directly with their airlines for updated flight schedules and travel information.
Regional aviation activity has experienced disruptions in recent days due to security-related airspace restrictions and precautionary measures implemented across parts of the Middle East.
Authorities in the United Arab Emirates have also taken precautionary steps affecting sections of airspace while monitoring the situation.
Dubai Airports stated that operations remain ongoing as airlines and airport authorities continue to support passenger travel during the current circumstances.
