Egypt, Qatar Enter New Phase of Strategic Cooperation

Doha, April 13 (QNA) – Egypt’s Ambassador to Qatar, HE Amr El Sherbini, affirmed that Egyptian-Qatari relations are witnessing exceptional progress, driven by the strong political will of both nations’ leaderships and their commitment to expanding cooperation.
In remarks to QNA, the ambassador highlighted that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s visit to Doha marks a new milestone toward establishing a long-term strategic partnership and is a clear sign of deepening ties between the two brotherly nations.
He noted the growing momentum in bilateral relations since 2022, characterized by mutual understanding, high-level visits, and increasing trust, now reflected in collaboration across political, economic, cultural, and developmental fields.
Economic cooperation remains a cornerstone of the relationship, with Egypt offering attractive incentives and a conducive investment environment for Qatari investors. Trade between the two countries has significantly increased, and both sides are working to expand this further in areas such as renewable energy, agriculture, industry, tourism, and infrastructure development.
Ambassador El Sherbini also underscored the importance of cultural ties, referencing the success of the Egyptian Cultural Week hosted in Doha, which strengthened people-to-people connections and reflected the deep historical bonds shared between both peoples.
He praised the role of the Egyptian community in Qatar, describing them as a vital bridge that enhances cultural, economic, and social relations between the two countries. He reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to supporting its citizens abroad and recognizing their contribution to bilateral cooperation.
On regional and global issues, he emphasized that Egypt and Qatar’s growing cooperation contributes to Arab unity, regional stability, and constructive dialogue. He highlighted joint efforts in addressing security challenges, counter-terrorism initiatives, and advancing humanitarian work in conflict-affected areas.
The ambassador concluded by stating that Egypt and Qatar are entering a new era of comprehensive, multi-sector cooperation based on mutual respect, shared interests, and a common destiny that unites the aspirations of both nations.
