Doha, September 15 (QNA) – HE Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, described last week’s Israeli attack on the State of Qatar as a blatant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and a direct assault on international laws and charters.
In his address to the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha on Monday, he affirmed Pakistan’s full solidarity with Qatar, condemning the provocative attack in the strongest terms. He stressed that the assault, carried out by Israel against Qatar without regard for consequences, also undermines efforts to achieve peace in the Middle East.
He pointed out that Israel’s attack on Qatar is not isolated from its other crimes, and represents a broader ambition for regional control and dominance, as well as a direct challenge to painstaking mediation and diplomatic efforts led by Qatar under HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, aimed at enhancing international peace and security. This comes at a time when Gaza continues to bleed, its population – especially women and children – faces ongoing injustice, and the Strip suffers widespread destruction under global observation.
He called on the international community to take immediate action to halt Israel’s inhumane practices and to urgently hold Israel accountable for its crimes against humanity.
He also urged the formation of an Arab-Islamic task force to implement effective measures to stop Israel’s expansionist plans and to suspend Israel’s membership in the United Nations.
In this context, he added: that the UN Security Council must urgently demand that Israel immediately cease hostilities, release Palestinian prisoners, ensure unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid, and protect aid workers, UN personnel, and journalists.
He further called for swift and permanent implementation of the two-state solution, establishing an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He concluded by stating that the summit reaffirmed the unity of thought, action, and speech among participants in opposing Israeli aggression, emphasizing that history will record this pivotal moment when Arab and Islamic leaders gathered in Doha and chose unity, dignity, and courage over silence and inaction – as history will never forgive such inaction.
