Erdogan: Ankara attack Strengthens Türkiye’s Commitment to combat terrorism

The recent terrorist attack in Ankara has deepened Türkiye’s resolve to eliminate terrorism, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated during his address at the BRICS summit. He expressed gratitude to all allies for their condolences and solidarity following the attack on Turkish Aerospace Industries, which resulted in five deaths and 22 injuries.

Erdogan denounced Israel’s actions in Gaza and Lebanon, labeling them as a severe violation of human rights. He remarked that Israel’s aggressive stance has ignited regional instability and surpassed all legal and moral boundaries. He condemned the genocide faced by the Palestinian people in Gaza and criticized Israel’s escalation of violence in Lebanon. Erdogan emphasized the urgent need for an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the 1967 borders.

He called on the international community to halt arms supplies to Israel, stressing that such support emboldens further aggression. Türkiye has initiated a campaign at the UN to stop arms sales to Israel, seeking support from BRICS member countries.

Erdogan also addressed the need for a stable global order, asserting that peace and security beyond national borders are essential for justice and development. He commended BRICS for its role in fostering fairer global trade and sustainable development. Erdogan reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to strengthening its ties with BRICS, aiming for mutual respect and cooperative growth in the region.
