ISTANBUL/ANKARA – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan condemned Israel’s military actions in Gaza, accusing the Israeli government of committing massacres against Palestinians and condemning the international community’s inaction. During a meeting with parliamentarians supporting Palestine in Istanbul on Friday, Erdogan described Israel’s actions as “massacres” targeting Palestinians indiscriminately.
“The Israeli government is massacring Palestinians without any distinctions,” Erdogan said, adding that journalists and children were being killed while global media and human rights organizations remained silent. He criticized Western countries for their double standards, questioning why they impose swift sanctions on minor incidents but fail to act against Israel.
Erdogan highlighted the devastating impact on Palestinians, noting nearly 60,000 deaths since October 7, 2023, most of them women and children. He warned that any proposal to expel Palestinians from their historic land would be rejected. The president described the Palestinian cause as a fight for dignity, justice, and humanity, calling for those who faced genocide 75 years ago to speak out against the atrocities in Gaza.
He accused those who remain silent of attempting to normalize genocide by labeling Palestinian resistance as terrorism, emphasizing that the ongoing violence since October 7, 2023, represents one of the greatest crimes of the century.
