ANKARA – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared on Friday that “separatist terrorists” in Syria are increasingly isolated following the liberation of Damascus by the Syrian opposition.
Speaking at a Justice and Development Party meeting in Aydin province, Erdogan stated, “With Damascus liberated, separatist terrorists are now cornered and seeking new patrons.”
He emphasized that these groups face a stark ultimatum: “They have only two choices – either renounce terrorism and lay down their arms or face inevitable elimination.”
Erdogan reiterated Türkiye’s commitment to eliminating terrorist threats near its borders and reaffirmed support for the Syrian opposition in their efforts to establish peace and stability in the region.
