Türkiye’s Global Vision
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Türkiye’s motto “the world is bigger than five” goes beyond criticism of the current global order and embodies a vision for humanity’s collective future. Writing in Newsweek, he stressed that Türkiye navigates complex crises without compromising its principles of justice, peace, and solidarity, safeguarding both its own security and humanity’s shared future.
Erdogan criticized the UN Security Council for being reduced to the will of five countries, calling the system unjust and in urgent need of reform. He underlined Türkiye’s role in dialogue and mediation, citing the Black Sea Grain Initiative and Ankara’s diplomatic efforts from the Caucasus to Africa. He also highlighted Türkiye’s humanitarian leadership, rooted in its history and values.
Gaza: ‘Gravest Test of Humanity’s Conscience’
Erdogan described Israel’s actions in Gaza as one of the greatest moral failures of the international system, with tens of thousands of Palestinians killed under blockade and bombardment. He stressed Türkiye’s efforts to secure a ceasefire, deliver over 100,000 tons of aid, and push for a two-state solution. Recognizing Palestine, he said, is the strongest response to oppression and the key to lasting peace in the Middle East.
Syria’s Recovery Crucial for Stability
On Syria, Erdogan said reconstruction and political unity are essential for regional stability. He reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to Syria’s territorial integrity, warning against separatist agendas and terrorist groups. Only by respecting the collective will of Syrians, he said, can a stable and just future be built.
Erdogan concluded that Türkiye, drawing on its painful experiences, will continue working to steer humanity toward justice, peace, and dignity.
