Ankara, February 18 – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan welcomed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Presidential Complex in Ankara on Tuesday. The meeting, which included key Turkish officials such as Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, National Defense Minister Yasar Guler, Communications Director Fahrettin Altun, and Foreign Policy Adviser Akif Cagatay Kilic, focused on strengthening cooperation between the two nations across various sectors.
Following their one-on-one discussion, Erdogan and Zelenskyy held a closed-door working dinner and later co-chaired an inter-delegation meeting to explore deeper diplomatic, economic, and security ties.
Zelenskyy’s official visit, at Erdogan’s invitation, coincides with the upcoming third anniversary of the Russia-Ukraine war, amidst increasing international talks regarding potential peace negotiations.
A ceremony for signing bilateral agreements and a joint news conference are scheduled for later, further solidifying the commitment to enhancing Turkey-Ukraine relations.
