IIOJK Farcical elections:
“Sham elections in the disputed occupied state can never be the substitute of right to self determination”, Talks to Our Special State Correspondent A H Rao:
MIRPUR (AJK): August 30: Categorically rejecting Delhi-sponsored forthcoming farcical Indian elections drama in Indian Illegally occupied Jammu Kashmir state in October this year, top PML (N) AJK leader and former Prime Minister of the state Raja Farooq Haider Khan said that the sham elections in the internationally-acknowledged disputed Indian-occupied Jammu Kashmir state could not be the substitute of the right to self-determination, committed to be granted to Kashmiris under U.N resolutions.
Talking to our Special Jammu Kashmir state Correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao here Friday evening, the ex AJK Prime Minister said India was tarnishing the ancient Islamic and historical cultural heritage of the Muslim-majority Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir state, besides targetting innocent Kashmiri Muslims of increased human rights abuses and brutal incidents of state terrorism
The Kashmiri leader called upon the United Nations to take immediate notice of the forced and unlawful staging of sham elections drama to the socalled state Legislative Assembly in the internationally-recognised disputed occupied state – since a free and fair plebiscite is required to be managed in entire Jammu Kashmir state under the spirit of resolutions of the UN Security Council providing opportunity to the population of the state to decide about their destiny under theUN resolutions, he added.
Farooq Haider said that mosques in IIOJK were being desecrated and innocent freedom loving Kashmiris, especially youth were being martyred on one pretext or the other including in the wake of fake encounters in both major regions of Jammu and Kashmir valley while properties of the muslim population of the turbulent state were being ruined. He wondered why international community was mum over all these increased human rights abuses on the part of Indian occupying forces in IIOJK, especially since the bleak day of August 05, 2019 when India committed sinister act of scrapping special status of the IIOJK State blatantly violating International norms and commitments including the UN resolutions.
Haider reminded to the UN to move for laying its due global role for safeguarding the Islamic and historical heritage through forced actions of bringing about the demographic change in the muslim-majorly disputed Indian occupied Jammu Kashmir state besides ensuring early peaceful settlement of the Kashmir issue in line with its resolutions
