Ex AJK President Syed Ali Ahmed Shah remembered on his 35th death anniversary with full State honor

MIRPUR (AJK): March 21: The 35th death anniversary of veteran Kashmir freedom struggle leader and ex President of Azad Jammu Kashmir Ghazi e Millat Syed Ali Ahmed Shah was observed across Azad Jammu Kashmir on Friday with the renewal of the pledge to continue the mission of the departed leader to bring the Kashmir freedom movement to its logical end with complete success.

Major simple but impressive ceremonies to mark the anniversary were held at his mausoleum in his native city of Mirpur Friday morning where leading personalities representing different walks of life including Mirpur Divisional Commissioner Ch. Mukhtar Hussain floral wreath at the mazar and offered fateha.

A large number of people from all walks of life including President Syed Ali Ahmed Shah Memorial Society Secretary General Qaiser Shiraz Kazmi, Mirpur, Kashmir Press Club Mirpur-AJK President Syed Abid Hussain Shah, Business community leader Raja Khalid Mahmood Khan, Presidents of their respective factions of local traders unions, social and political activists and others were also present on this occasion.

Quran Khawani was held for the departed soul besides a special function to pay glorious tributes to the departed Kashmiri leader.

People from various walks of life visited the mausoleum of Syed Ali Ahmed Shah here Friday morning and placed floral wreaths at the mazar besides offering fateha for the departed soul and other martyrs of Jammu & Kashmir state besides praying for the early success of Kashmir freedom movement and for the solidarity, stability, prosperity and uplift of Pakistan and Azad Jammu Kashmir.

Later addressing a special ceremony hosted jointly by Mirpur University of Science & Technology at its City campus, Syed Ali Ahmed Shah Memorial Society and the MUST speakers including the Chief Guest Vice Chancellor MUSt Brigadier (Retd) Prof. Dr. Younis Javed, President Mirpur District BarAssociation Ch. Mahmood Palakvi Advocate, Prof. (Retd) Qazi Zubair, Secretary Syed Ali Ahmed Shah Memorial Society Qaiser Shiraz Kazmi, and others paid glorious tributes to the late former President of AJK Syed Ali Ahmed Shah for his meritorious services for the Kashmir cause for the achievement of their legitimate right to self determination – besides for the supremacy of law and justice in the state and for the development and uplift of the liberated territory of AJK.

Speakers described departed Shah sahib a great hero of the Kashmir freedom struggle for his life-time services rendered for the cause of Kashmiris struggle for liberation of the motherland from the Indian clutches – despite the unilateral unlawful August 05, 2019 sinister act of India’s hardliner and fascist Modi led government. They underlined that not a single Kashmiri has accepted India’s said illegal action scrapping special status of the internationally-acknowledged disputed Indian-illegally occupied Jammu & Kashmir State.

Speakers said that best way to pay tributes to the departed Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Ahmed Shahis to follow his foot steps for the achievement of the destination he set for the people of Jammu and Kashmir through the liberation of the homeland from the illegal and forcible clutches of the long Indian subjugation.

Speakers underlined that it was the result of the sacrifices of over two lakh of Jammu and Kashmir martyrs given during recent past that Kashmir emerged as the flash point and the freedom-loving and civilized world community were pressing for the early peaceful settlement of Kashmir problem.

Speakers emphasized the need of early peaceful settlement of Kashmir issue in line with the aspirations of the people of Jammu & Kashmir under the spirit of the international norms and commitments especially the U N resolutions.
