Global NGO Muslim Hands kicks off Monsoon tree plantation drive in AJK: 20 thousands saplings to be planted only in Mirpur:
MIRPUR (AJK): July 23: United Kingdom based global NGO – Muslim Hands International here Tuesday formally launched the the monsoon tree plantation drive in AJK.
” Over 20 thousands sapplings of friendly trees will be planted only in Kashmiri expatriates’ district of Mirpur AJK”, the MH’s spokesperson Raja Qamar Atta told media at the Inaugural ceremony of the tree plantation campaign at main Park at central Naangi Shopping Centre.
City Mayor Usman Khalid Ali Chaudhry, Deputy Commissioner Mirpur Yasir Riaz Chaudhry, Senior Superintendent of Police Kamran Ali, Chief Officer City Municipal Corporation Mughees Riaz Chaudhry and other dignitaries representing diverse segments of the civil society planted the saplings of different nature on this occasion seeking maximum individual and collective role of all segments of the civil society played to bring about green revolution in the country including through maximum plantation of the trees through repeated all seasons ‘ campaigns.
At least 0.20 million trees are proposed to be planted in various parts of Azad Jammu Kashmir including all three districts of Mirpur division including Kotli and Bhimbher during the campaign, the Spokesperson revealed.
Speaking on this occasion DC Mirpur: Mr.Yasir Riaz,
SSP Kamran Ali and city Mayor Usman Ali Chaudhry lauded Muslim Hands’ initiatives in various social welfare fields, besides serving the sick humanity in variouspartsof the world including AzadJammuKashmir.
They hoped, besides expressing best wishes for all the successes of the current and future tree plantation drives in the district.
Mayor of Mirpur Usman Khalid expressed his determination to work together with the assistance and support of the Muslim Hands to ensure the lake city a healthier place for everyone. He assured all sort of support for the success of the drive to fight against the future negative repercussions and challenges of the climate change
