Golam Mawla Hazari elected President in Qatar-Bangla Press Club Elections

Doha: The biennial council and elections of the Qatar-Bangla Press Club were successfully held in a vibrant atmosphere. The voting took place on Saturday, where journalists exercised their franchise through a ballot.

Golam Mawla Hazari, the representative of Seventy-One TV, was elected President for the 2025-2026 term by direct vote and General Secretary Md. Mamunur Rashid, News24 correspondent. Senior journalist and Mohana TV representative, Yusuf Patwari Lincoln, served as the Chief Election Commissioner. Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Qatar, H.E Mohammad Nazrul Islam, graced the event as the chief guest and officially announced the results. The newly elected five-member executive committee includes Senior Vice President Akbar Hossain Bachchu (Bangla TV), Vice President Amin Bepari (DBC News), Organizing Secretary Ahsan Ullah Sajib (SA TV), Treasurer Shakhawat Hossain Sagar (Citizen TV), and Department Secretary Shamim (Citizen TV), along with executive members EM Akash (TBN24 TV) and Yusuf Patwari Lincoln (Mohana TV). Observation members included Mohiuddin Chowdhury, Dolan Khan, Mostag Ahmed Bappi, S Alam Sabuj, Jisan Uddin, and Maya Howlader.

The election proceedings were attended by prominent Bangladeshi community leaders, including Anwar Hossain Akan, Saiful Islam, Syed Ana Mia, MM Noor, Abul Kashem, Narul Islam, Engineer Hossain, and Mahbubur Rahman Babu.

The event marked another milestone in strengthening journalistic collaboration within the Bangladeshi community in Qatar
