Govt. to place special funds next year for AJK journalists, their press clubs: Federal Info. Minister

MIRPUR (AJK): June 24: Kashmir Press Club Mirpur-AJK President Syed Abid Hussain Shah Tuesday called in Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar in his office in Islamabad on Tuesday shared with him the issues related to the journalist fraternity of Azad Jammu Kashmir in general and Kashmir Press Club Mirpur-AJK in particular, says a press release issued by the press club here late Tuesday

The KPC President discussed in detail, with the federal info minister, the journalistis issues related to the performance of their professional duties in the base camp of the Kashmir freedom struggle in the back drop of the role of media and institutional development in yhe liberated territory.

The federal information minister Attaullah Tarar assured all possible cooperation for resolving the problems of journalists and strengthening the press clubs. The federal minister said that the government was well aware of the problems faced by journalists across the country and a coordinated strategy was being adopted to resolve their problems.

The minister said that the federal government was also in touch with media houses’ owners to get sacked journalist employees back to their jobs and will also resolve the problems of media houses on a priority basis so that they do not dismiss their journalists.

He said that the PML-N government stands with the journalists and will continue to stand with them.

The federal minister said that the government will allocate a special budget next year for journalists working in Azad Jammu Kashmir and their press clubs.

On this occasion, President Mirpur Kashmir Press Club Syed Abid Hussain Shah thanked the Federal Information Minister for the grant given by the federal government to his Kashmir Press Club for its uplift besides to facilitate its journalist members for performance of their professional duties in most comfortable manner matching to the latest needs.
