Grand Mosque and Hall Inaugurated at MUST Faculty of Health Sciences Mirpur

MIRPUR (AJK), March 5: A state-of-the-art mosque and a spacious hall were inaugurated late Wednesday at the Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences (FH&MS) of the public-sector Mirpur University of Science & Technology (MUST), it was officially said.
The newly established Dewan Begum Mosque and Dr. Zarish Nawaz Hall are being described as a significant initiative aimed at enhancing student welfare and providing improved facilities for nearly 900 female students of the faculty.
Authoritative university sources told this Correspondent that the project represents an important step toward creating a balanced academic environment where intellectual growth, spiritual fulfillment and co-curricular activities can develop together.
According to the sources, the project was initially proposed by Dr. Mian Zeeshan Javaid, Chairman of the Department of Pharmacy, with the support of Mr. Luqman Jarral, Inspector Inland Revenue, Inland Revenue Department, Mirpur. The construction work was carried out by Feroz Enterprises, Mirpur, ensuring high quality standards and timely completion.
Special appreciation was also expressed for the generous donor Abdul Ghafoor Malik for his valuable contribution toward establishing these facilities.
The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Mr. Tahir Malik, who appreciated the university’s efforts to enhance infrastructure and promote student welfare. Appreciation shields were presented to Mr. Tahir Malik, Luqman Jarral and Engr. Muhammad Nauman Akram in recognition of their support and services for the successful completion of the project.
Speaking on the occasion, Dean Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences Prof. Dr. Faisal Riaz thanked the donor, mediator and construction company. He noted that the mosque was especially needed for the nearly 900 female students of the faculty, while Dr. Zarish Nawaz Hall would serve as a common room for academic and co-curricular activities.
The ceremony was attended by senior faculty members, including Prof. Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khalique, Prof. Dr. Khuram Pervez Amber, directors, administrative officers, heads of departments and faculty members, reflecting the university’s commitment to student-focused development.
