Doha, October 28 (QNA) – The Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs, represented by its Hajj and Umrah Affairs Department, has announced the extension of the registration period for the Hajj season 1447 AH until November 15.
In a statement, the Ministry said that registration will continue via its official website (www.hajj.gov.qa) until the new deadline, allowing additional time for applicants to complete the registration process.
Director of the Hajj and Umrah Affairs Department Ali bin Sultan Al Misifri stated that the decision to extend registration came in response to the overwhelming public response to the early registration campaign launched in early October. He noted that the strong turnout reflects the devotion of those wishing to perform the fifth pillar of Islam and their confidence in the services and organization provided annually by the Qatari Hajj Mission.
Al Misifri highlighted that obtaining a medical fitness certificate is a mandatory requirement before registering. Applicants must acquire this certificate from accredited health centers across the country, in line with the regulations of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, to ensure the health and safety of all pilgrims.
He clarified that the initial payment of QR 10,000, made electronically when selecting a campaign, is not a registration fee but an advance payment that will be deducted from the total Hajj package cost. The overall cost varies based on the level of accommodation, transportation, and services offered by each campaign.
The Director confirmed that 27 licensed and approved Hajj campaigns will operate this season. He encouraged prospective pilgrims to contact the Hajj and Umrah Affairs Department through the hotline (132) for inquiries or to submit any complaints.
Al Misifri further stated that Qatar’s quota for this year’s Hajj is 4,400 pilgrims, adding that the Ministry has coordinated closely with Saudi authorities to ensure smooth procedures and efficient organization through the electronic Hajj portal, guaranteeing the best services for Qatari pilgrims.
