Doha, February 02 (QNA) — Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, delivered a keynote address at the opening of Web Summit Qatar 2026, highlighting the critical relationship between language, technology, and human values in the age of Artificial Intelligence.
In her remarks, Her Highness emphasized the importance of embedding ethical principles and cultural identity within rapid digital transformation. She described the present moment in the Arab world as a decisive turning point, stressing that progress requires more than resources — it demands trust between minds and institutions, and renewed faith in the Arabic language and its enduring creative power.
Her Highness noted that Arabic today faces a defining challenge within the technological sphere, calling it a battle not over tools but over meaning, identity, and continuity. She underlined the need to ensure the survival and growth of the Arabic language through collective determination, self-driven development, and mobilization of intellectual and cultural energies.
Addressing cultural diversity, Her Highness affirmed that technology is a shared human endeavor rather than the inheritance of a single civilization. She stated that innovations emerging from diverse local needs and cultural contexts can achieve global significance when empowered by technology, transforming national efforts into collaborative creativity that transcends borders and sectors.
On responsible investment, Her Highness highlighted Qatar’s transformation from an oil- and gas-based economy to a knowledge-based economy. She expressed confidence in Qatar’s readiness to lead in technology, citing its strong investment in education and scientific research, transparent legal framework, ethical standards, and international credibility.
