ADEN, Yemen, April 25, The Houthi group claimed on Friday that U.S. forces have conducted over 1,200 air raids on Yemen since mid-March, resulting in significant civilian casualties and widespread destruction across the country.
In a statement, the Houthis’ foreign affairs authority accused the United States of deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure, including residential areas, ports, health centers, water facilities, and historical sites, describing the attacks as “flagrant violations” of international and humanitarian law. The group further alleged that Washington is attempting to “evade responsibility” for its actions while covering up “crimes against civilians.”
The U.S. government has not yet responded to the allegations.
Military operations resumed on March 15 following an order by former President Donald Trump, who called for “decisive and powerful action” against the Houthis. Trump pledged that strikes would continue until Houthi forces no longer posed a threat to the “freedom of navigation” in the region.
Despite the ongoing U.S. strikes, the Houthis have reportedly intensified attacks on Israel, U.S. naval forces, and drones operating in the Red Sea. They claim these actions are in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, linking the Yemen conflict to broader regional tensions.
The situation in Yemen remains volatile, with increasing concerns over the humanitarian crisis amid continuous airstrikes and the collapse of critical infrastructure. International observers have called for restraint and renewed diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation.
Further developments are awaited as tensions in the region continue to mount.
