Huawei Highlights Innovations in Industrial and Homeland Security at Milipol Qatar 2024

At the Milipol Qatar Exhibition & Conference 2024, Sultan Mahmood Malik, Chief Security Officer at Gulf North Rep Office, spoke to the media particularly Rahbar Kisan International, about Huawei’s growing focus on industrial intelligence and homeland security. With a theme of “Accelerated Industrial Intelligence with Security,” Huawei introduced several advanced solutions tailored to evolving security needs.

Malik highlighted Huawei’s extensive industry experience, noting that the company’s networks support over 3 billion users globally without a single major cybersecurity incident. Huawei’s solutions, currently implemented in more than 170 countries, have earned the trust of 1,500 carriers and 10,000 enterprise networks. Leveraging its technological capabilities, Huawei is now focusing on helping clients build their resilience, Malik said.

The company launched its new “Idea Presence” solution—a 138-inch 4K immersive screen—an advancement on its popular Idea Hub series, designed to transform the workspace through smart technology. The product, displayed at Milipol, is expected to serve both Qatar and global markets. Malik also showcased other cybersecurity innovations, including Huawei’s multi-layer ransomware protection, which combines network and storage capabilities to defend against ransomware proactively.

Huawei is developing AI models for enhanced security, including a large-scale AI-driven security model with over 10 billion parameters to assist security agencies in identifying and mitigating threats. Malik explained that Huawei’s cloud-based Pangu AI model will support decision-making for national security by interpreting vast data volumes generated in digitalized environments. Although Huawei’s research facilities span globally, from privacy protection labs in Canada to cryptography centers in Singapore, Malik noted that the Middle East remains an area of focus for digitalization.

Through Milipol, Huawei aims to strengthen its partnerships and demonstrate its capacity to integrate both device and solution-based security in ICT for homeland and public safety agencies across the region.
