MIRPUR (AJK) – The Mirpur campus of the internationally renowned International Islamic University Islamabad celebrated Pakistan Day on March 23 with traditional zeal and fervor. The ceremony was conducted in a simple and dignified manner, in line with ongoing national austerity measures, while expressing full solidarity, love, and affection for the Government and people of Pakistan.
Director Administration & Personnel, Attiq Ul Amin, served as the chief guest for the brief ceremony hosted at the school’s principal campus. He was accompanied by senior academicians representing different sections of the school to mark the 86th Pakistan Resolution Day with enthusiasm and patriotism.
Students from all classes presented vibrant tableaux and performed national anthems of Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, depicting various milestones of the Pakistan Movement in the historical backdrop of the Pakistan Resolution passed on March 23, 1940, at Minto Park (now Iqbal Park). Their performances highlighted the sacrifices of freedom fighters and the principles of unity, faith, and discipline, inspiring all attendees.
Addressing the gathering, the chief guest, Principal Mrs. Aysha Imran Mirza, Vice Principal Mrs. Mariya Attique, and other speakers highlighted the historical significance of Pakistan Day and the heroic struggle of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, whose leadership paved the way for the emergence of Pakistan.
Speakers urged students, faculty, and attendees to contribute individual and collective efforts to realize the vision of Quaid-e-Azam and strengthen Pakistan. The ceremony concluded with prayers for the stability, sovereignty, progress, and prosperity of Pakistan and AJK, as well as for the early success of the Kashmiris’ struggle for the liberation of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir and its eventual accession to Pakistan—a goal deeply cherished by Kashmiris as their ultimate destination.
The event was attended by faculty members, students, and parents, reflecting a united commitment to national values, patriotism, and the enduring spirit of Pakistan Resolution Day, while fostering a sense of responsibility and pride among the younger generation.
