Jakarta, September 24, 2025-Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto called for international solidarity and emphasized the need for a strong United Nations (UN) to address complex global challenges, according to a statement released by the Presidential Secretariat.
President Prabowo made his remarks during the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York. “The UN was created to ensure peace, security, justice, and freedom for all. We remain committed to internationalism, multilateralism, and every effort to strengthen this great institution,” he said.
Highlighting the importance of a just world order, he stressed that global rights and opportunities should not be reserved for a select few nations but must encompass all of humanity. The UN, he noted, must be empowered to tackle pressing issues, including conflicts, humanitarian crises, and social and economic injustices.
President Prabowo also highlighted Indonesia’s longstanding contribution to UN peacekeeping missions and affirmed the country’s commitment to further strengthen its role. “Global security and peace cannot be achieved through words alone; they require tangible actions. No country can feel secure in isolation. We need a strong UN, and Indonesia will continue its full support,” he added.
The Indonesian President’s address reinforced the country’s commitment to multilateralism and global cooperation, underlining the essential role of a robust United Nations in ensuring international peace, stability, and justice for all nations and peoples.
