Tehran, October 31 (rki.news / Xinhua) – Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi strongly condemned the United States’ announcement of plans to resume nuclear weapons testing, describing it as a “serious threat” to international peace and security.
In a post on X on Thursday, Araghchi criticized the statement by U.S. President Donald Trump, who said he had “instructed the Department of War to start testing our nuclear weapons.” The Iranian foreign minister warned that such actions undermine decades of non-proliferation efforts and could destabilize global security.
Araghchi accused Washington of being the world’s “most dangerous proliferation risk” and called on the international community to hold the U.S. accountable for “normalizing the proliferation of such heinous weapons.” He also denounced Washington’s “double standards,” saying it continues to “demonize Iran’s peaceful nuclear program” while threatening strikes on Iranian facilities in “blatant violation of international law.”
The United States has long accused Iran of seeking to develop nuclear weapons — a charge Tehran firmly denies. On June 22, U.S. forces joined Israel in airstrikes targeting Iranian nuclear sites in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan, further heightening regional tensions.
