Tehran, January 08 (QNA) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ Al Sudani on Wednesday discussed the latest developments in Syria and the Gaza Strip, along with bilateral relations.
Held during the latter’s visit to Iran, the meeting stressed the importance of continued joint cooperation within the framework of bilateral agreements and understandings, as well as developing a constructive partnership to enhance the interests of both countries.
Moreover, they discussed coordinating with regards to unfolding events in the region, particularly the situation in Syria and the need for joint efforts to establish security and stability there while maintaining the country’s territorial integrity.
The Iranian and Iraqi sides also touched on the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing Iraq’s continued efforts to promote de-escalation and stability throughout the region, based on its constructive cooperation with Iran and Arab and regional neighbors.
