Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has warned the United States and its allies that any hostile actions against Iran will be met with a decisive response. Addressing a gathering in Tehran, he stated that threats would not work against Iran and cautioned that any aggressive move would result in severe consequences.
He rejected claims that resistance groups in the region operate as Iranian proxies, calling such accusations misleading. He emphasized that these groups act independently and do not rely on Iran for direction.
Khamenei’s remarks follow recent statements by the U.S. president, who accused Iran of supporting armed groups in the region. The situation has escalated after reports of continued attacks on Red Sea shipping, prompting retaliatory airstrikes. The Iranian leader reaffirmed support for opposition to what he termed as “malicious acts” in the region.
Tensions have intensified following renewed hostilities in Gaza, where military operations have resumed. In response, regional armed factions have issued warnings of further escalation, vowing action if the situation worsens.
The ongoing conflict, coupled with heightened regional tensions, raises concerns of a broader confrontation that could impact global stability. Observers warn that further hostilities could lead to unpredictable consequences in an already volatile region.
