Gaza City – Three Palestinians were killed and at least 15 others injured early Thursday when an Israeli airstrike hit a residential home in Bani Suheila, east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, according to Gaza’s Civil Defense. Rescue teams pulled the victims from the rubble, reporting that the dead belonged to two families.
The strike comes despite the ceasefire agreement brokered on October 10, which has seen repeated violations. On Wednesday alone, Israeli airstrikes across several areas killed 25 Palestinians and wounded 77, Palestinian health authorities said. The Israeli military justified its actions as retaliation for gunfire targeting its forces in Rafah, southern Gaza.
Since the October ceasefire, multiple reports from Palestinian authorities, human rights groups, and independent observers indicate numerous ceasefire breaches. Gaza’s Health Ministry stated that Israel has killed 280 Palestinians and wounded 672 since October 11.
The ongoing military operations have devastated the enclave, with nearly 70,000 Palestinians killed and over 170,000 injured since October 2023, most of them women and children. Infrastructure and homes across Gaza have been heavily damaged, leaving thousands displaced.
Humanitarian groups continue to call for urgent international intervention to uphold the ceasefire and prevent further civilian casualties in the already war-torn region.
