Gaza City, Palestine – An Israeli airstrike on a UN-run school in the al-Maghazi refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip killed at least six people on Tuesday, according to the UN Palestinian refugee agency (UNRWA).
The attack was condemned by UNRWA, which called it “outrageous” and highlighted the increasing danger to civilians in Gaza, noting, “No place is safe in Gaza anymore, not even at UN facilities.”
The ongoing conflict, which began on October 7 when Hamas launched a surprise multi-pronged attack, has led to over one million displaced people in Gaza—almost half of the population. Israel has continued its bombardment and blockade of the region, with over 4,400 casualties reported, including at least 3,001 Palestinians and more than 1,400 Israelis.
