Israeli military forces arrested 16 Palestinians during fresh raids across the occupied West Bank on Sunday, according to Palestinian sources.
The raids took place in various locations, with six Palestinians detained in the towns of Silwad and Deir Qaddis near Ramallah. The Israeli army also targeted homes in Ramallah city and surrounding areas, resulting in the arrest of at least seven individuals. Additionally, three people were detained during a raid in the Al-Far’a refugee camp in Tubas.
Tensions in the West Bank have been escalating, as Israel’s actions in the region have led to significant casualties. Since the onset of Israel’s military campaign against Gaza on October 7, 2023, over 930 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 7,000 have been injured, as reported by the Palestinian Health Ministry.
This recent series of arrests follows growing international condemnation. In July, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s prolonged occupation of Palestinian territories to be illegal, urging the evacuation of settlements in both the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
The ongoing conflict and its devastating impact continue to draw widespread concern from global human rights organizations and international bodies
