Amman, March 03 (QNA) – The Jordanian Armed Forces intercepted a drone attempting to smuggle narcotics into the country early Monday, according to a military source.
The source stated that Border Guard forces, in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, detected the drone and tracked its movements before engaging under rules of engagement, successfully bringing it down within Jordanian territory, according to (Petra) news agency.
The confiscated materials were handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation. Petra added.
The Jordanian Armed Forces reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding national security and preventing the infiltration of narcotics into the country. The military continues to deploy its full capabilities to counter smuggling attempts along Jordan’s borders, Petra said.
