MIRPUR ( AJK): May 19: Kashmir-origin Engr. Faisal Iqbal Ratayal has been appointed as Acti g Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of National Information Technology Board (NITB), Pakistan, it was officially said.

The National Information Technology Board appointed Engr. Faisal Iqbal Ratayal, son of former Secretary to AJK Government for Electricity and Power Development Azad Jammu Kashmir as acting CEO of the Organisation, according to an official notification issued by the NITB of Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication. He was already serving as Director General Telecom Pakistan. He has been conferred additional charge charge as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the federal level, according to the notification.

According to the details, as per the decision of the 9th meeting of the Board of Directors of the National Information Technology Board (NITB) under the Federal Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication held on May 6, 2025, the acting charge of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has been handed over to DG Telecom, Faisal Iqbal Ratial for 3 months. According to the notification, Faisal Iqbal Ratayal has been given additional charge with immediate effect along with his current responsibilities, in return for which he will be given 20 percent additional salary on his current total salary, the notification said adding that this appointment has been made under the authorized rules and regulations of the National Information Technology Board, 2025, vide notification number NITB-1(500)2018/1652 dated May 16. Thus, after receiving modern higher education and training in Telecommunication, the talented information technology professional, originally belonging to Mirpur, Azad Jammu Kashmir, has now been appointed as the acting CEO of NITB at the federal level.

Meanwhile the induction of Engr Faisal Ratayal, as acting CEO of NITB besides the incumbent position of DG Telecom, spread a wave of joy among the educated class of every school of thought in his ancestral district of Mirpur Azad Jammu Kashmir. Ends / APP / AHR.

It may be recalled that Faisal Iqbal is currently performing his duties as Director General Telecom in the federal Telecom and Information Technology Board. He is considered to be one of the most qualified bureaucrats at the federal level and as such his new appointment as acting CEO observed as great honor for Azad Jammu Kashmir.
