The Day echoes with mass anti-India rallies at either side of LoC.

MIRPUR (AJK), Jan. 26: Jammu & Kashmir people living on both sides of the Line of Control – AJK and IIOJK – as well as across the world observed Indian Republic Day on Monday, January 26, as Black Day, reiterating complete dissociation and hatred against India and apprising the world of the urgency of an early peaceful settlement of the Kashmir issue in line with the aspirations of the people of the disputed Himalayan State.
Kashmiris observed the day in response to the call given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, fully supported by the Azad government of the State of Jammu and Kashmir, AJK correspondents reported. In IIOJK, a complete strike was observed to mark the day as Black Day against what was described as Indian unlawful and forced occupation of the bulk of Jammu & Kashmir state for the last 78 years.
The day marked traditional protest against continued Indian subjugation of the internationally acknowledged disputed Jammu Kashmir State and against massive human rights abuses, including the planned massacre of innocent Kashmiris in Indian-illegally occupied Jammu Kashmir. Kashmiris observe Indian Republic Day as Black Day every year to apprise the world of continued brutalities, massacre of innocent people, and violations of human rights by Indian occupying forces, while emphasizing the importance of an early peaceful resolution of the 78-year-old Kashmir dispute.
This year’s observance came as the hardliner PM Modi-led Indian government, by violating international norms and commitments on Jammu Kashmir, scrapped the special status of the internationally recognized disputed state by revoking Articles 370 and 35-A of India’s constitution through the August 5, 2019 act, deploying at least a million occupational military and paramilitary troops in Indian-occupied Jammu Kashmir and turning the valley into what was termed the largest prison on the planet for the last six years.
In Azad Jammu & Kashmir, protest rallies and demonstrations were held in all ten districts of the liberated territory against what was described as continued illegal occupation. Various social, political and public representative organizations, including lawyers, journalists, business community members, laborers, students, and social and political workers, participated in rallies and processions to express fullest traditional hatred against Indian imperialism, showing complete solidarity with the freedom-loving people of Indian-occupied Jammu Kashmir in their just and principled struggle for freedom and the achievement of their legitimate right to self-determination.
