MIRPUR (AJK): January 6: Veteran Kashmiri Business Community stalward and District President AJK Real Estate Property Dealers Welfare Association Shehzad Lone reiterated Kashmiris firm resolve that Jammu Kashmir people will continue their struggle for securing right to self determination till a single Kashmiri was alive.

Addressing a ceremony hosted by his organization to mark Kashmiris right to self-determination day here on Tuesday, Lone, also Mirpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Executive Committee Member, said that the Kashmiris’ struggle for the right to self-determination is in accordance with United Nations resolutions and will continue until this right was achieved,

Shehzad Lone continued that 5th January stands as a,day of exceptional significance in the history of the Kashmir dispute. The day, he added, is commemorated to mark the Kashmir resolution passed by the United Nations Security Council 5th January 1949, which granted the people of the State of Jammu and Kashmir the undeniable right to decide their destiny through a free, fair, and impartial plebiscite under UN auspices.

Lone further said that 5th January is a day of great importance for people of Kashmiri, as it marks the global recognition of their right to self-determination. This is a firm promise to the Kashmiri people, which India also reiterated. He asserted that Kashmiris’ struggle will continue until the Kashmir issue is resolved peacefully and justly. The international community should pay attention to resolving this issue, he urged.

The Kashmir issue must be resolved according to UN resolutions without further delay as Kashmiris were struggling for last 79 years, to secure their legitimate right to self determination through getting Occupied Jammu Kashmir state fro.
