Khamenei: U.S. Failed, Iran Triumphed in Conflict

TEHRAN, June 26 – Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei declared Thursday that the United States gained “nothing” from its recent military confrontation with Iran, calling the outcome a “harsh slap” to Washington.
In a televised message aired by state-run IRIB TV, Khamenei congratulated the Iranian people on what he described as a “victory” over both Israel and the United States in the latest round of regional hostilities.
“Despite its claims and propaganda, Israel was nearly crushed by Iran’s blows,” he said, adding that Iranian missile and drone strikes successfully penetrated Israel’s advanced multi-layered defenses, destroying both military and urban targets.
Khamenei emphasized that any future Israeli aggression would come at a heavy cost. He stated that the United States entered the conflict to protect Israel but achieved no tangible results. “Once again, Iran delivered a harsh response to the U.S. a slap in the face,” he added.
The Iranian leader also confirmed that Iran had targeted the U.S. Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar one of Washington’s most critical military installations in the region inflicting damage despite attempts to minimize the incident.
The conflict escalated after Israel launched major airstrikes on June 13 targeting Iran’s nuclear and military infrastructure, killing senior commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians. In retaliation, Iran unleashed multiple missile and drone strikes on Israel, causing significant casualties and destruction.
Further intensifying tensions, the U.S. bombed Iran’s Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear sites on Saturday. Iran responded on Monday by striking Al Udeid Air Base, marking a rare direct attack on a U.S. military installation in the Gulf.
