Legal fraternity stands as backbone of the judicial system: AJK PM Faisal Mumtaz Rathore

MIRPUR ( AJK): December 19: Azad Jammu Kashmir Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, while describing legal community as the backbone of the judicial system, said that the resolution of their issues was indispensable for the delivery of speedy justice.

He was talking to delegation of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Bar Council, led by its Vice Chairman Muhammad Tariq Bashir, called on Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore at the Jammu Kashmir house in the state metropolis on Friday, Our Special Jammu Kashmir state Correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao reports quoting the State government sources.

The delegation briefed the Prime Minister on key challenges faced by the legal community.

On the occasion, the delegation stressed the need for the establishment of a permanent seat for the Bar Council, effective implementation of the Lawyers Protection Act to ensure the safety of lawyers, an increase in the grant-in-aid for the Bar Council, the establishment of a judicial complexes in Haveli district, Dhirkot tehsil, and an additional district court in Barnala tehsil.Moreover, during the meeting with the Prime Minister, the delegation raised issues regarding the non-appointment of lawyers to various tribunals, the procedure for appointing government law officers, and matters related to lawyers’ representation.The delegation stressed that resolving administrative and professional issues confronting lawyers would enhance the effectiveness of the justice delivery system۔

Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore attentively listened to all the suggestions and demands put forth by the visiting delegation and assured them that the government would take serious steps to address the legitimate issues of the legal community.

The delegation included Muhammad Nadeem Khan, Advocate, Chaudhry Waseem Sabir, Advocate, Ms. Taazim Aziz, Advocate, Shujaat Ali Rathore, Advocate, Syed Asim Masood Gilani, Advocate, Syed Ashfaq Hussain Kazmi, Advocate, Haroon Riaz Mughal, Advocate, Mir Tanveer, Advocate, Saghir Haider Jaral, Advocate, Ishtiaq Ahmed Raja, Advocate and other members of the Bar Council.

Minister Chaudhry Qasim Majeed and DG Political Affairs Aamir Zeeshan Jaral were also present on the occasion.
