MIRPUR (AJK): Jan 23 : Daily life was almost paralysed at uppercut reaches of the Neelam and Leepa vallies of Azad Jammu Kashmir since last night following communication blockage after bulk of the areas in the valley lashed with heaviest snowfall of the season.

Various higher reaches of Azad Jammu Kashmir including Neelam and Leepa vallie received heaviest snowfall of the season leaving the life paralysed as roads leading to the snow-clad Neelam and Leepa vallies were partially closed due to the snowfall, which was continueing without any pause on Friday, official sources confirmed to our AJK Correspondent late Friday

The AJK’ metropolis Muzaffarabad received snowfall after a long time of 44 years. Earlier the state’s capital town had lashed with the snowfall in 1982, according to the authrotarive and reliable sources.

As reported earlier, the winter’s heaviest snow and rainfalls since late Thursday chilled both sides of the line of control in Jammu & Kashmir (AJK and Indian-illegally occupied Jammu Kashmir) with Meteorological Department predicting moderate rain in plains and continuation of heavy snowfall in upper reaches during next 24 hours.

Some parts of Mirpur, Kotli and Bhimber districts of this division received light downpour since mid last night of Thursday and Friday as the plains continually remained under clouds on Thursday waiting anxiously for the resumption of the heavy rainfall .

Due to the influence of Western Disturbances over the Indian-occupied state of Jammu and Kashmir, it is likely that moderate to heavy rains or snow would continue to occur at various upper parts of both sides of the Himalayan state during next 24 hours.
