Local lawyers to hold Kashmir Conference in Mirpur AJK on Saturday – May 24: President DBA

MIRPUR ( AJK): May 23: District Bar Association Mirpur AJK President Chaudhry Mahmood Hussain Palakvi Advocate announced here on Friday that local lawyers will hold a day long conference titled “Kashmir issue and the role of lawyers” in Mirpur on May 24 Saturday.

“Lawyers from all the district and tehsil bars of Azad Jammu Kashmir will participate in the conference, being hosted in the back drop of the current Kashmir situation”, Palakvi disclosed while addressing a news conference at Kashmir Press Club here on Friday, our Special Jammu and Kashmir state Correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao reports from Mirpur AJK.

The DBA President was flanked by the DBA General Secretary Bar Chaudhry Fayyaz Advocate, Vice President Chaudhry Gul Bahar Advocate, Information Secretary Sajjad-ul-Haq Advocate, and Syed Abul Hassan Advocate on this occasion.

He said that the cunning enemy India could not achieve its nefarious goals. He said India launch unprovoked aggression through sudden attacks on targetted sites in Pakistan and Azad Jammu Kashmir and made an abortive attempt to impose war. But suffered a befitting response by the valiant armed forces of Pakistan suffering a convincing defeat in the recent conflict, he added.

The DBA President congratulated the brave armed forces of Pakistan and the government of Pakistan for giving a befitting reply to the enemy’s aggression. “People of Kashmir are thankful of government and nost particularly the brave armed forces of Pakistan strongly frustrating the Indian aggression with full vigor.

“In future the enemy will never make such a mistake” Advocate Mahmood said adding that India has been exposed before the whole world for creating an unprovoked war situation.

He said that the government encouraged the people of the border during the war, but still many people were rendered homeless. Those who could not return because of their houses damaged in the Indian aggression, should also be helped, he demanded.

Mahmood Chaudhry Advocate warned India not to dare to stop our water. “The water from our glaciers from Kashmir’s mountains could not be stopped. He urged that the people of the state of Jammu and Kashmir should be allowed to live in peace through the early peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue.

Referring to the prposed construction of a Car Parking Places,at DC Garden close to the District Courts Mirpur, the DBA President alleged that the mafia has collected 20 percent advance of Rs. 640 million project being constructed in the name of the car parking plaza in DC Garden in Mirpur.

“We will approach the courts of law raising the alleged financial mismanagement”, he said adding that there was no need for a parking plaza in DC Garden. He demanded that the Car Parking could be built near the View Point taxi stand.

The DBA President urged the AJK government to refrain from putting additional burdens while fulfilling the basic needs of the people.

He strongly condemned the recent incidents of terrorism in Balochistan Pakistan and urged the government to bring the perpetrators to justice using all possible resources to combat the India-backed incidents of terrorism in Balochistan, he added.

The DBA President strongly condemned the alleged fake housing societies in Mirpur, which, he alleged, were trying to destroy Mirpur. He emphasized that the environment should be saved, the government and the local administration should take strict notice to overcome the causes of the environmental pollution in the district.

The DBA President demanded a highly judicial inquiry into Rs. 7 billion Mirpur Greater Wire supply scheme project, which was lying abandoned for over past 10byears because of massive financial illdiscipline and corruption.

The bar, he declared, will continue playing its vibrant full role to secure and safeguard the due civil rights of the people including the legal fraternity.
