MARDAN – The 2-day “Family Festival and Expo” to welcome the New Year was held at Zamong Park in Mardan, organized by the Mardan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the City Local Government Mardan. The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Mardan, Dr. Azmatullah Wazir, along with Mayor Mardan, Himayat Allah Mayar, and Central Organization of Traders Provincial General Secretary, Zahir Shah.
The opening ceremony saw a large turnout from the business community and members of the Mardan Chamber of Commerce. Over 30 stalls were set up by local traders, showcasing a variety of products including food, clothing, decorations, cultural items, as well as detergent and soap products.
Addressing the event, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Azmatullah Wazir emphasized that the district administration is committed to the development and prosperity of Mardan, and assured full support to the business community. He stressed that the administration will work closely to resolve any issues businesses face, and highlighted efforts to attract investors to the district for the benefit of the local population.
Mayor Mardan Himayat Ullah Mayar spoke about Mardan’s growing role as a major trade center, noting the increasing number of employees involved in the city’s business activities. He promised continued efforts to develop Mardan as a hub for industrial and tourism sectors.
Zahir Shah, Provincial General Secretary of Tajran Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, remarked on Mardan’s potential as the second-largest city in the province, offering numerous trade and investment opportunities. The “Family Festival and Expo” aimed to showcase Mardan’s economic and commercial strengths, while encouraging investment in key sectors.
