MIRPUR ( AJK): Oct. 3 ; A special medical education review committee under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator M Ishaque Dar on October 21, 2025 and on March 27, 2025 attended by all concerned administrative/professional experts/heads had fixed annual chargeable medical colleges fee as Rs.1.8 million per student.
This ceiling was, however, made adjustable to annual inflation CPI. The decision was duly publicised in the print, visual media.
Informed sources told our this Special Jammu Kashmir state Correspondebt that the parents and patrons of medical students all across Pakistan had welcomed this fee fixation decision as a big boost to the spread of medical education in Pakistan – a dire mass need. All patrons had warmly thanked the Deputy Prime Minister/FM Senator M Ishaque Dar and all attendees of the committee for this sane initiative taken after extensive consultations, advice with the professional experts and respective administrative heads. Decision was hailed as quite rational having lasting creative impact for promotion of medical education as well as for parents and for medical educational institutions/units in Pakistan.
However, reports say that arbitrarily some medical colleges are not honoring the fee fixation decision. This has created uncertainty for students and parents alike. They have appealed to the Deputy Prime Minister/FM Senator M Ishaque Dar Chairman of the Committee for a reminder to the medical institutions/colleges to honor the special higher level medical education review committee’s annual fee fixation decision as Rs. 1.8 million made adjustable to CPI
